Pictures that go with the last post

All the family

Merry Christmas!!

Well once again it has been way too long since I posted anything! The past couple of months have been busy. I have mostly been working long hours, and then trying to fit family time in afterwards.

We have also had the oportunity to have a few vacations. In October we went to San Diego for 4 nights for our anniversary. We had a wonderful relaxing time. I love San Diego!!! We also went away for Thanksgiving. We got to have two vacations in one. We went to Utah to pick up Wyatt and then headed to Colorado. We were able to spend 4 days in Colorado with my family. We had a wonderful time. We went ice skating one night. We did a 4 mile Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning that I am very proud of myself for. We got up at 3am the day after Thanksgiving and hit all the big sales and crowds out shopping. That was a blast! We just had great family time with Wyatt. Then we headed back to Utah to return Wyatt and have a few days with Shane's family. It was nice to see everyone. I got to go see New Moon with my sister in law Wendy! That was great! We did more shopping, had a family dinner with everyone, and I visited with old friends that I use to work with at Get Away Today! Unfornately, when we returned from our vacation Shane was let go from his job.

Since we have been back from our Thanksgiving getaway we have been busy and got right into the Christmas season. I absolutely love this time of year. I love how everyone is so nice and people go out of there way for others. I love all the family get togethers and parties that don't take place other times of the year. I especially love that we can take this time to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. It makes me reflect on the year and see if I have accomplished the goals I set to be a better person and to be more like Christ. Also to set new goals for the year to come. I just love everything about the holiday season and wish it didn't rush by so fast!

We have been busy this past week. It feels like everyday I have something going on. We had our church christmas dinner this past week and my work christmas dinner. Both turned out great and were fun to attend. This weekend we went out on Saturday the most rainy day of the week to buy the Christmas tree! I love buying a real tree, I love the smell that feels the house. I love the hunt for the perfect tree. Even in the rain it was so much fun! After the tree shopping we made a gingerbread house and played games. It was such a fun family day. Today we had a wonderful day at church and then we had family over. We had an early family Christmas party since some of the family leaves for Colorado this week for Christmas. It was fun to be together with them and celebrate.

The next few weeks prove to be busy when I look at my calendar, but I know I will enjoy every minute I get to spend with my family celebrating the holiday season. It is nice to be home with my family this year. We are very sad to not have Wyatt with us!!!!

We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season! (this is your Christmas card or letter! Sorry have not got around to it this year)

Love,
The Thompson's

Time Out For Woman and than some!!!

This weekend my Mom, Grandma, Aunt Cherie and I went to Time Out For Women. It was in Riverside. I had been looking forward to this event for months! It is something that us girls do ever year together. This year was no disappointment! We had wonderful speakers and great music. I was so excited to find out that Kenneth Cope was going to be doing all of the music this year. He is one of my favorite church singers. Our first speaker was Mary Ellen Edmunds. She spoke on this life being like our insurance policy into the next life. That as we follow the teaching of the gospel and commandments it is our insurance to live with God again. She is a very fun lady and has a great laugh. I really enjoyed her talk. The next speaker was Brad Wilcox. He spoke on the Atonement and how Jesus Christ has already done his part for us and that we need to do our best here on earth and Jesus will make up the rest. He had great stories and again really enjoy the message he talked on. After lunch we had two more speakers. We had first Jill Mannings. Jill is a marriage and family counselor and specializes in pornography. She addressed us on ways to keep our homes a safe guard against pornography. It was very interesting to hear everything she was saying and now bad and evil this world is. Especially the degrading and immoral things that are being done to women and child in that industry. She said that 83% of pornography comes from the United States that is on the internet. Our country is the largest producer of it. That is a scarey thought! It was a very informative talk. It opens my eyes to things I just didn't even imagine or understand. The last speaker was Emily Freeman. Once again I have to say it was a great talk. She talked on Abundance. She told a story of how she bought a wooden block that had the word abundance on it. She placed it on her coffee table and thought that was what her family needed that paticular year "abundance". Well things didn't seem to happen in her mind the way she had planned as the year went on and she didn't at first feel the abundance she had hoped for. But as she really thought about it, she realized that Heavenly Father was viewing abundance in a much different way and she was filled with blessings and had much abundance in her life. She went into great detail of the blessings in her life and stories of her family and the trials that they have went though. She is an amazing women and I learned so much from her talk. Most of her talk I was either laughing or crying. It was wonderful!! The entire conference was uplifting and so filling to my spirit!
We left the conference excited and blessed to be able to hear all the great music and speakers. Aunt Cherie had met us their and so we said our goodbyes and headed on our seperate ways. About 10 minutes into our drive home Aunt Cherie called my mom's cell phone and said she was in a car accident. She was heading down the freeway in her lane and a guy came out of control and hit her. She lost control of her van and ended up hitting the brick wall on the side of the freeway. We turned around on the freeway once we got the call since she was heading in the opposite direction than us. We got to the accident and her van was totaled! She was ok, we ended up taking her to the hospital's emergency room to be checked out. She was having chest pains, pain in her ribs and her left arm was all scraped up. But overall she was doing ok. Well we spend most of the evening at the hospital. Then we ended up bring Aunt Cherie home to my moms for the night. Then Uncle Nick came to pick her up this morning. It is so scary to be in that type of car accident. But I know she was blessed with walking away with only a few bruises!
Other than that Shane and I have been enjoying going to Disneyland with our Annual Passes. It is fun to see it all decorated for Halloween right now.
We also are heading to San Diego this coming Thursday! We are so excited to be going on a mini vacation. We are spending 4 nights at the Paradise Point for our Anniverary! Another year of marriage has past us by! I love Shane and I am so thankful to be married to such a wonderful man and a great father!

Update

Well life has been crazy busy for us the last few months and looks like that will continue for the next few months! In my last post I wrote that we were heading to Utah for Wyatt's Baptism! So I will start with that!
For labor day weekend we drove to Utah with my parents. It took most of the day on Friday to get up there. We had fun on our road trip though! I got pulled over about 2 miles from my in-laws house on the freeway! But was lucky to be given only a warning to not speed! We got up on Saturday and had a relaxing morning and then headed to the baptism in the afternoon! The baptism was perfect! It was such a special event in all our lives but mostly for Shane and Wyatt. I feel so lucky to have a husband that honors his priesthood and was able to use his priesthood to baptize Wyatt!
After the baptism Wyatt's mom had a nice party for him at the church. It was so nice for Wyatt to have us celebrate this special day for him! When that ended we were able to go back to Gary and Diane's and spend some time with Wyatt! We watched the BYU football game and just had fun as a family!
On Sunday we were able to be together again with the family and attend our new nephew Easton's blessing. Afterwards we went back to Gary and Diane's for a early lunch and then headed out of town! We drove Sunday night to St. George and then we drove back to California the next day! It was a fast weekend but we sure enjoyed the time we were able to spend with family and friends and also to share in Wyatt's special day! Shane and I are so proud of him for his decision to be baptized and follow Christ's example! He is a great young man and I am proud to have him as my step son!!
Since the baptism we have been busy here in California! It seems like every weekend we have a family event or plans! In September we had a family get together and we also have my nephew Corbin's 2nd birthday party! We bought a new car! We got a BMW 325 e. It is used but it will hopefully be a good car for Shane! We were able to go to an Angel's baseball game, that was so fun! I am a huge baseball fan and it is so fun to actually go to the game!
For the month of October-last night we had a big temple event for our stake at the Redlands Temple. It has been in the works for the last few months. We were as a stake suspose to gather names to take to the temple. Our stake had the entire temple reserved the entire afternoon and evening just for our stake! We had youth there to do baptisms and adults there to do everything else! In August Shane and I were called to be the family history consultants in our ward to help prepare the members for this event. It has been a great experience to have this calling and involved in this event. It was wonderful to attend the temple yesterday. We had over 400 members of our stake there. It was just an awesome experience. As a family we are already preparing to take more family names through the first Saturday in November. We are so excited to get this work done for our family members!!
Also another big event for this weekend, Shane is shooting his first wedding down here today! He is doing it as I am typing this post! He is an awesome photographer and I am so proud of him!
Other events for the month-we have souper saturday craft day at church next Saturday. The following weekend my mom, grandma, aunt and I are going to Time out for Women that is in Riverside this year. Then the fourth weekend of the month Shane and I are going to San Diego for four nights! This past Janurary I received a free four night stay at the Paradise Point on our FAM trip when I worked for Get Away Today Vacations. So Shane and I decided we would use it for our anniversary. It is going to be our fifth anniversay in just a couple of weeks. Time has gone by fast. I am excited for us to have this nice getaway! I love San Diego!! After that we have Halloween weekend and lots of plans also! My list could go on and on with all the upcoming plans! I will try to be better and post more often as these events happen!
I have pictures to post also but not sure where to find them on the computer. I need to ask Shane!
We are still loving being here in California! We are mostly enjoying the weather. It is nice as fall is here and winter is coming not to have to stress about the snow!

Wyatt's Baptism

We have had a busy weekend getting ready for Wyatt's Baptism next weekend. This is the day Shane has been looking forward to for 8 years. He is so excited to be able to baptism him! I am so blessed to have a husband that is worthy of the priesthood, that honors his priesthood, and uses his priesthood to do good. It truely blesses our lives! We are leaving early Friday morning to drive up to Utah and we return to California on Monday. It will be so nice to have a short work week and then have a 4 day vacation to Utah and than another short work week! I will feel everyone in on the detail next week. But we don't want to miss inviting family and friends that want to share in Wyatt's special day!
Wyatt's Baptism is at the Roy West Stake Center at 2270 West 4800 South Roy Utah. It on Saturday September 5th at 2pm. We hope to see all family and friend there!

Where did the summer go?

This summer has gone by so fast! We have been so busy! We work all week and never see each other. Shane and I are on opposite schedules right now. I work 8am-5pm and he works 1pm-10:30pm. It is crazy! So the weekends we try to fit everything in and spend as much time as possible with each other!

The past couple of weekends we have been able to find some together time. We have went to the movies, the beach and to dinner. This past weekend we had Micheal for his last weekend before school starts. We decided to have our end of the year beach party Friday afternoon and evening. It was fun. The ocean water was warm and Shane spent the entire time we were there in the water trying to surf! It was fun watching him. We also took Corbin and he had so much fun just playing in the sand.

This next weekend we are going to go to the Orange County marketplace, we need to shop for Wyatt birthday presents and hopefully do a few other fun things together.

We only have a couple of weeks before Wyatt's Baptism! We are so excited to come to Utah and to have Shane baptism Wyatt! This is a day that Shane has been looking forward to for a long time!

I have posted a few pictures! Enjoy!!

New Job

Well I think I have landed myself a new job. It is a amazing story though. Last week I got a call from a dental office in Irvine. When I talked to the office they wanted to know if I lived close by in Orange County. Well they can see on my resume that I live in Corona. So I said no and that was it. They didn't want to interview me. So call is ended. Then this Tuesday I get a call from the same dental office and they did not talk about where I lived but just said that the doctor wanted to set up an interview with me at my availability.
I go in on Wednesday for the interview with the doctor. We are discussing where I worked before like normal and he is asking a lot about what I did at the previous dental office I worked for. At the end he tells me that he is really good friends with the previous dentist. He also said that he would tell him hi for me when he called him.
So I am not stupid and I am still good friends with Dr. Hsu. So I came home and call him. I had to leave a message. Not more than an hour later Dr. Hsu called me back. He said that he had just received a message from the other doctor but wanted to call me first. So he was asking me if I wanted the job. I said that I did, that it would be a good opportunity. So he basically told me that if I wanted the job than he would make it happen for me. That he was really good friends with this doctor and he could get me the job. So I thanked him and ended the call.
So about 30 minutes later I get a call from the doctor I interviewed with and he had me come in today for a working interview and to see from there. Well the day went good and I am to report back in on Monday.
I feel so blessed. I know that Heavenly Father is watching out for me. I also know that you need to remain in good contact with past friends and employers. I am so glad that I have remained good friends with Dr. Hsu. I am also thankful for his influence in all this and for the good things he told the doctor about me. I feel so blessed today. What a difference a day makes. I am excited to not have to interview anymore. That is a blessing in itself.
Months ago I knew it was the right decision to move to California and that Heavenly Father was behind our move down here. Even though it was a difficult decision to make. It was extremely difficult to leave Wyatt in Utah. We still struggle with that. But we are starting to see light of why we are here and the blessings that go with doing the right thing when it doesn't make since.
I am truly blessed!!!

Week Two with Wyatt here

Well this past week went by so fast. Today Shane and I were discussing this weeks plans and he started to tear up when he realized that this is Wyatt's last week with us. I just reminded he to just take one day at a time and enjoy this week as much as possible.

Well here is the last weeks recap. On monday we took Wyatt to the park down the street that had water squirters. It was so fun for him. On Tuesday we just went swimming in the pool in the morning. Then in the afternoon Papa, Wyatt and I went up to Bakersfield to pick up Micheal. The boys were so excited to see each other. Micheal gave Wyatt a bear hug and picked him up and was swinging him around. On Wednesday we had another swim day and a relaxed play day. Then on Thursday we went to Disneyland. This was Shane, Wyatt and my third day and my Mom, Micheal, and Corbin's first day. It was so fun. We got on so many rides. It was also my birthday. I got a gift card from disney since they were doing the celebration gift this year. We had fun using that. For my birthday my parents got me summer clothes, Shane and Wyatt gave me a gift certificate to get a pedicure, and with some of my Disney gift card I bought a new purse. It was a fun day and a great way to celebrate my birthday. On friday we got up late and had a lazy morning and then the boy's went to the park again to enjoy the water squirters. Later that night we went to the Miguel's at Dos Lagos to have my birthday dinner. On Saturday it was 4th of July and one of my favorite holiday's! We got up and went out to my aunt and uncles house it Palmdale. We had all the family there for a fun day of swimming and a bar-b-que. We then left in time to get home to see the fireworks. On Sunday we went to our favorite beach Corona Del Mar in the afternoon. It was a busy week and so much fun. Shane, Micheal, mom, and Brad are all sunburnt. Wyatt and I were lucky this time to not be burnt! I am getting a nice tan and I love it!
So we are on to week #3. We have some plans for the week. My mom took this week off. We still have a day at Wild Rivers water park that the boy will be surprised about and a movie day and swimming of course. It will go by fast I am sure but we are just trying to enjoy every minute Wyatt is here with us!! I have so many pictures to post but I have not downloaded them to the computer yet. Hopefully I will have those on my next post!!

Wyatt Invades California!!

We have had a busy week with Wyatt here. I decided that I would do a one week recap for each week that Wyatt is here.
Shane and Wyatt arrived in California on Monday morning. Wyatt was so excited to finally be in California and excited for his summer vacation to begin. We did not do too much monday. We came back to the house and played. On tuesday we went to the movies and went swimming. Wednesday we went swimming again. Then on Thursday we went to Disneyland. We decided that we would focus the day in Disney's California Adventure. It was such a fun day. We got to go on so many rides, some for the first time. Wyatt was finally tall enough for California Screamin. He loved it!! We went on it 2 times, tried for a third but the ride broke down before we were able to get on. After DCA closed we headed over to Disneyland for fireworks and a few more rides. On friday we were so tired that we stayed around the house. Corbin was over for the day so the boys went swimming again and just played together. On Saturday it was back to Disneyland. This time we focused the day at Disneyland. We went on all our favorite rides. Wyatt got picked to do the Jedi Training Academy. That was the highlight of his day, maybe his life!!! It was a fun day.
Today we went to church and then headed to San Diego to pick Chad and Wendy up at the San Diego Airport. They are going on a cruise today for the week. It was fun to see them and we went to lunch and then dropped them off at the cruise ship. I really hope they have a great time on their cruise!! After that we headed back home but stopped to see Grandma and Grandpa on the way.
That pretty much sums up our first week with Wyatt here. We are having so much fun! But time is flying by! This next week Micheal comes down to play and we are going to Disney for one last day, on my birthday! We have some fun things planned for the 4th. It will be another busy fun filled week! I will post pictures as soon and I get them loaded onto the computer.

Summer is Finally Here!!!

I feel that summer has finally arrived. The past couple of weeks the weather has been the normal June weather here in Cali! We have had the overcast morning and it burns off in the afternoon to nice sunny weather and then it is night again and the sun is gone. But this week the sun has been shining in the morning when we wake up and it stays up all day. We have had perfect 80 degree weather all week. Oh so nice! I do love summer time.

We are so excited for Wyatt to come in just a few days. Shane is flying out saturday morning. He will pick Wyatt up on sunday morning and then they fly to California on Monday morning. I think that is a perfect father's day gift for him. It will be so nice to have Wyatt with us for 3 weeks. We have a lot of fun activites planned for him. We of course will do the usual California things like the beach, and Disneyland. But we are hoping to do a few new things like Wild Rivers water park. But most of all it is going to be a time for us all to be together as a family and just have fun.

With Father's day just ahead I would like to tell my husband how much I love him. I think he is the best father in the world and I am so glad that he has his time coming to spend with Wyatt. I know he misses him so much and is sacraficing so much to be here in California. I would also like my dad Brad and my father in law Gary to know that I love them and I am thankful for everything they do for Shane and I. They are wonderful men and wonderful examples to me. I hope all the other father's out there have a great day on sunday.

Here's to a great summer!!!

A Surprise Vistor at Newport Beach

Yesterday Shane and I went to Mission Viejo first thing in the morning. I had an interview at a dental office there. The interview went really good. I am going back tomorrow to do a working interview. So we will see. After my interview, we headed to Newport Beach to meet Bart, Marti, Ava, and Sophie. They are down from Utah visiting for the week. We got to Newport alittle early and Shane wanted to take some picture on the beach. As we headed down onto the sand we saw a sea lion. It was just a baby. Shane took alot of pictures of him. I posted two pictures below. We were sad that Bart and Marti wern't there to see him. But a short while later they arrived and the sea lion was still there hanging out. It was so cool to take Ava down to see him. They had been to Seaworld the day before so She was excited to see him.

After the Sea Lion encounter we went out on the pier and had lunch at Ruby's Diner. Then walked around alittle bit by the shops. After that Shane and I had to take off. Shane had to get home and ready for work. But we had a great time. It was so nice to see Bart, Marti, Ava, and Sophie. We hope to see more of the family soon!! Enjoy the pictures below. It was so cool to see him so close-up.

What we have been up to!

Well I have no pictures to share. But this past weekend Shane and I were in two different state and both had a great and busy weekend. A couple of weeks ago I surprised Shane with a airplane ticket to Utah. He was so excited to go see Wyatt for the weekend. Wyatt had no idea that he was coming. With the help of Gary and Diane we surprised Wyatt with his dad for the weekend. When I talked to Wyatt after they picked Shane up at the airport he said- Thanks for sending my dad to surprise me, that was the best surprise ever! They had so much fun playing all weekend. They got stuff out of storage and went to the movies and had a family get together. It was great. Thanks to all the Thompson's for making the weekend so great for my boys!!!

For me I stayed home here in California. I babysat Corbin on Friday night. We had fun. He was in a really good mood and was so fun to play with. He spent the night. Then on Saturday we went on some errands, took Corbin and Micheal to the water park and then Brian and Brandie picked Corbin up. That night we went to the movie Night at the Museum. For the rest of the weekend and holiday, I got to see a friend of mine Shelley that I had not seen in a few years. It was fun to catch up on life with her. We had a bar-b-que with the family. Then on tuesday morning Shane came back. It was such a fast but fun weekend.

This week has been going by fast also. It is almost over and that is crazy. Shane started teaching his second class on tuesday afternoon. So now he is full time and teaches from 2:20-10:30pm. So when I get a job here we will probably never see each other except on the weekends. Oh well!!
Hopefully this weekend we will have a day to spend together and do something fun!!

We are now just counting down the days until Wyatt gets to come for his summer vacation. We have a ton of fun things planned to do with him.

Life is Good!!!

This past week has gone by fast. Shane has been busy with this job teaching. He has also started going to some local baseball games and has been shooting pictures of the games and then sets them up online to be sold. He has been doing pretty well with that. It will hopefully turn into a nice side business for us.

I had a couple more interviews last week. Nothing great to report on yet. All of the interviewing is helping me get more comfortable with interviewing and talking to people. On thursday I was in a office interviewing and a weird thing happened. While I was sitting there the front office lady got on a phone call and basically was asking for information on an employee that got arrested two days prior for stealing $4000.00 from the office. So I guess that is why they were hiring. It was just weird since I was not the only one in there waiting room. I just think that was weird to be talking about such a thing with patients in the office.

We had a quite weekend at home. Shane went to shoot pictures, did some yard work, and relaxed.

This next weekend Shane gets to go to Utah to see Wyatt. I am so excited for him. He has been missing him so much. Hopefully they will both have a great time together. Then it will only be 3 1/2 weeks until Wyatt comes down for his summer vacation to spend time with us. We are going to have so much fun.

Next weekend for me-I will be hanging out with the family. We have a beach day planned with Micheal. I am going to dinner with a friend that I have not seen in a while. I am so excited about that. It should be fun. But I will miss Shane and miss getting to go see Wyatt with him.

Oh this past weekend we took Gucci to a park in Riverside that is a dog park. He has so much fun. He meet a couple new friends but mostly loved to sniff everywhere and smell all the other dogs there or that had been there. He was in dog heaven and sad when we had to go. A lady came with 2 dogs that looked like Gucci. It was cute to see 3 little white fur balls running all over the park.

Well life is going good!!!

Another Week is Passing us by!

I can't believe we are into May already. Our weather has been awesome of course. We are really enjoying the warm weather. Last weekend went by so fast. We had a date night with my parents. We went out to dinner and then went to the Redlands Temple. It was a really nice night. I always feel so much peace when we are able to go to the temple and take that time away from the world and reflect on life and get the guidance needed from our Father in Heaven. The funny thing is, that Shane never cleans out his clothes and I wash items all the time that he leaves in his pockets. Well a few weeks back I washed his wallet. So when we got to the temple his temple recommend would not scan. The guy checking us in said: "Sister Thompson's scanned just fine, that is wrong with Brother Thompson's". I quitely told my mom that I washed it and she having the loud mouth that she does, told everyone. So they just inputed it manually and let him in. We talked to the Bishop on Sunday when he came to the house to visit us and he said it is fine. Lesson learned! My husband needs to clean out his pants better!

My parent bought a new car last weekend also. They purchased a Honda CRV. It is really nice. My mom and I took it for a little spin on tuesday night shopping. It is a nice ride. We are taking it again to Bakerfield tonight for my nephew Micheal's open house at school.

Well still no job for me. I had a working interview last friday at a dental office in OC. I was suspose to hear back by Monday but I have not heard anyting yet. My mom told me to call them but I am too much of a chicken to do that. The office is really unorganized and quite crazy so I wouldn't be too sad not to get the job, but I need a job so if I got it then it would be a job that we need me to have! I had another interview yesterday. So something is bound to work out soon for me I hope.

On the other hand, Shane is loving his job. He has one class in the evening right now. We were just told that he would get his second class in the afternoon at the end of this month! We are so excited about that. We were orginally told that he would get his second class in the mornings in june or july. So now it will be in the afternoons so he will go at 2:30-10:30pm. That will work out so nice for when Wyatt comes to visit this summer. They will have all day to be together. Then he will also have some other days he will be taking off.

Well Mother's day is just around the corner. Tomorrow my mom, and I are taking my grandma out for Mother's day. We have an appointment for manicures and pedicures, then we are going to go to dinner at the new Miguel's Restruant at Dos Lago's Lake side. We are excited. Then we are going to try and rent a chick flick. The one we want is Bride Wars. Hopefully we can rent it. All the men will be gone. My dad and Micheal are going on the father/son overnighter with the ward and Shane will be at work. So it should be fun. So I would like to wish all the Mother's out there a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!

The rest of the weekend, Shane and I are going to the OC Market place saturday morning, finishing up our mother's day shopping after that. Then my dad and Micheal should be back so we will play and do what Micheal wants the rest of the day I am sure. On Sunday we have church and then we are going to go to my aunt and uncle's for a Mother's Day celebration in the afternoon.

Weirdest Interview Ever!!

So today I had an interview at a Dental Office in Santa Ana. When I set up the interview the dental office name and address sounded really familiar to me. I was thinking I already had an interview there. Well anyway, I went today. Sure enough it was the same dental office that I interviewed for a couple weeks back. Weird!! But I went in anyway! I filled out the application and on the application there was a question asking if you applied before and where and when. So I put yes and filled it out. Well the same guy interviewed me (if you call it an interview). When he took me back to his office he asked when I had interviewed before and if I ever had the try-out working interview. I said no. Then the interview was basically over. He said that he wanted me to come back for the try-out. He took me back up to the front office. Gave me a business card for a lady that was not there today. He said to call her tomorrow and set it up. That was it, interview over. So we will see. I just left there today thinking that the entire situation was so weird!!!!!!!!!

A Week In Review

Well time just seems to be flying by. We have been here in California for almost 2 months. I can't believe it has gone by so fast. Shane is working and loving the class he teaches. He has 22 students and will hopefully start his second class in June. The program that he teaches is 11 months long. Then a new class is ready to start after the 11 mo. It is a pretty good program. He is really enjoying it. I hope this continues to work for him.
As for me, I am still looking for a job. I have been getting quite a few calls for interviews. That is good. I think something is bound to come up for me. I am currently waiting to hear back from 2 different dental offices that I have interviewed for. So we will see!!
Today is Micheal's 9th birthday!! I can't believe he is 9 years old already! He is such a sweetheart. This past weekend we celebrated his birthday. We started the day out with going to the church for a emergency preparedness day. Then we went to a classic car show at Corona High School. And last, he wanted to go golfing so that is what we did. It was alot of fun. I got a few hold-in-ones. I am very proud of myself for that. After golfing we went out to dinner, and then came back to the house for cake and ice cream. I made his cake for him. He wanted to have a Backugan cake. It was fun and turned out nice. He liked it anyway. I think it overall was a fun day for him!!
Also last Friday night I babysat Corbin all by myself. My parents were picking up Micheal and Shane was at school teaching his class. Shane went with me in the afternoon to pick Corbin up at the babysitters house. When we arrrived I told Shane to get his car seat into the car and I would get Corbins stuff and be right out. Well later that night when my sister in law came to pick up Corbin we went to get the car seat out of the car and we could not get it out. Shane had locked it in so tight it would not budge. The release button would not work. We spend about 30 minutes and could not get it to release. So I followed my sister in law to her house with Corbin in my car in his car seat and then my brother came out and it was so easy for him to get it released. Such our luck. I think we must of loosened it for him!!
It was sure a busy weekend. This week Shane is working and I am just applying for jobs and have a couple of interviews set up. This next weekend we are going to the temple and to dinner with my parents Saturday night. Not sure what eles. But I am sure it will be fun!
I will upload pictures from Micheals Birthday soon!!!

THE SCORE IS IN!!

The boys are back! They had a fun weekend fishing. My dad caught 5 and my uncle Steve and Shane caught ZERO!!

It was a great weekend here for the girls. My mom and I did some shopping. We rented two movies and we went to the movies with my Aunt Carol and cousin Jessica since my Uncle Steve was fishing with the boys!! We saw He's just not that into you. It was pretty good!

I love Conference weekend. We also enjoyed listening to Conference. I get so uplifted by the speakers. A couple of the speakers addressed their talks towards listeners that were not the norm. They talked about struggles some of us might have. They listed what I feel Shane and I fall into the catergory of those that want children. That really touched my heart! I know that everyone out there struggles with different things in their lifes. This is a struggle that I have to face. I try so hard not to think about it. But I am human and I want a baby! But I have a lesson to learn from this. Hopefully, I will learn it and grow from it.

On the job end-Shane started teaching today!! Yea!!! I am still looking for a job. I have a interview on Tuesday. Hopefully that goes well for me.

This week we have lots of plans. My nephew Micheal is coming down on Wednesday for his Easter break. We are going to my cousins baseball game on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday I am taking him to the movies. We are also going to make sugar cookies! Not sure about Friday's plans yet, maybe the beach. Saturday we have a Easter egg hunt for church at the park. Then we will do some egg coloring and get ready for Easter the next day. My mom is having Easter at her house this year. So that should be fun.

That is all for now!!

LIFE IN CALIFORNIA

Well I can't believe it is already the 31st of March. We have been in California for 1 month. Life has been great. Shane starts teaching on Monday April 6th. He got to substitute teach one day last week. He really enjoyed that. I have been applying for jobs. I have had a few interviews, but nothings has worked out so far. I went on a job interview today for a dental office in Huntington Beach. The next step is to hopefully get a working interview. I should know within the next few days if I get that. The drive is a little far but the pay would be pretty good.

This weekend Shane, my dad , and my uncle are going on a camping/fishing trip. They leave friday morning and come back sunday night. So that means my mom and I get another girls weekend. We are going to go to the movies and just do some fun things together.

Overall, everything is going good. We have my nephew Corbin overnight today. My nephew Micheal was down this past weekend. We went to the Orange County Marketplace. Micheal gets to come back for his spring break in a week. We are excited for that! We miss everyone, especially Wyatt! Hopefully we will get to see him soon!

AN INTERVIEW AND A DAY AT THE BEACH

Today I had a job interview in Orange County at a Dental Office. Shane decided he would take the opportunity to go with me. After the interview we headed to Newport Beach. It was an overcast day. We had fun shooting pictures and relaxing on the beach. Even though it was overcast, I still put sunscreen on. As usual I missed a spot and I got burnt on the side of my left leg and a small spot on the inside of my right arm. Oh well, it was worth it. After we relaxed on the beach we walked around a little. We went into a few beach shops. Got a couple cool postcards to mail to Wyatt and we had lunch at a pizza place. It was a fun day!
Our fun relaxing on the beach days are numbered as we start jobs and have to work. But I am enjoying them while they last. We hope everyone enjoys the pictures we took at the beach. The first picture I took and the second picture Shane took!

UPDATE, JOBS, ECT.

Life is so funny. After a lot of prayer we decided to come to California. Shane and I felt really good about the decision we were making and not sure why. In past years we always felt wrong about moving here. We were unsure about jobs. Shane was afraid that he would have to take a job that was going to be hard on his already broken down body. He wanted to focus more on his photography and I just didn't feel like that was the right direction we should go. Well now we think we know why it was the right decision to move here. Shane has been offered a teaching position at a trade school here in Riverside. It is only 20 minutes away from Corona. This is the perfect job for Shane. He gets to use all his electrical knowledge and not hurt his body more while doing it. The down side is that the job does not start for a little while. But we are so excited! Congradulations Shane!!! I love you and so excited for this great job you are able to start.
On the other side, I am still looking for a job. There are lots of jobs out here. I have been applying for them. I hope something comes up for me soon. It is funny, before we left Utah and I was working I could not wait to have some time off. I am now starting my 3rd week off and would love to have a job to get up in the morning to go to. I am not a sit around the house type of person. I like the thought of it, but when I am doing it I get so bored. So I really hope something good comes up soon.
So others things we have been up to-We went last week and spent the afternoon and evening with my grandparents. My mom and I went to get our hair done, and nails and feet done. Thanks mom!!! This coming Friday my mom, grandma, aunt and I are going to the spring Harvest Festival in Del Mar. Also friday afternoon Shane and my dad are going on a overnight camp out with the scouts. So my mom and I are having a girls day on friday and Saurday. That should be fun for us and the boys! Micheal came and spent this past weekend with us. We also had Corbin overnight on Saturday. My brother and my sister-in-law had tickets to see Rasal Flats. It was fun to have them both here. On friday night Micheal and I laid in his bed at bedtime and we sang songs and just laughed forever until Nana came in and told us it was getting late and I needed to let Micheal go to sleep. The fun ended there!
Well we are doing good. We miss everyone in Utah! Especially Wyatt!

California or Bust!

Well we finally made it to the sunshine and warmth of California. It was a rough trip, Carrie had to drive my 4-runner (trust me, that is a chore) and I was pulling a trailer. It took two days, but we made it here, and we have enjoyed every minute. The weather has been warm and sunny and shorts with flipflops are the preferred attire.

Carries job she was hoping to get didn't pan out, and I have had a couple portfolio reviews which didn't go as I had hoped, but our spirits are high and we have been tag-teaming on job search web sites. I added a couple photos to stock agencies since getting here and things are always improving in that field.

The one down side is we have been here over a week now, and have yet to get to the beach. We were hoping to go saturday, but I had to take a test for Los Angeles city for a street light worker job, and afterwards we met Carries friend Angie. Hopefully this week I will get a chance to go catch some waves.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to go pick an orange, sit on the patio and watch the sun set over the palm trees and feel bad that its snowing in Utah.

All photos by Shane.

California Here We Come!!!

It has been a while since we updated our blog. I guess since we are moving I should get better at this blog business. Well I should give an update on life for us the last couple of months. Well Christmas came and past in a flash. We had a great time with Wyatt this year. He is at such a fun age for Christmas. We had a great Christmas day with Shane's family. The day after Christmas we left for California and stayed until New Years Eve. We had so much fun with my family. We played with all of Micheal's Christmas presents. He got this really cool scooter called a Fusion. It was a blast riding on it. We went shopping and went to the movies, the market place. The weather was great and we didn't want to leave. But we did and got home and spent the rest of Wyatt's chrismas break playing with his new toys, going sledding and just having fun being together as a family.

Four days after we got back from California, I got to go again. For work we have a yearly FAM trip to California every January. It was so much fun this year. We spent the first 3 nights in San Diego. Then the next 4 nights in Anaheim. While in Anaheim one day we played the Amazing Race Orange County style. It was fun. We were split into teams and raced to the hotels to find a orange dot. My team had a few problems health wise and we didn't win. But we had a blast trying. I am sure the guest's at those hotels thought we were crazy racing into the hotels and running like crazy trying to find the dot. The competive side of everybody sure came out. After being gone over a week and my feet about to fall off we returned home. My bed never sounded better.

This year has gotten off to a great start. I am glad to be out of our 2008 funk. We have recently decided to move to California and give it a go there. I am really excited to be living by my family and I hope it will be a bright future for our little family. We will sure miss being up here in Utah with Shane's family. They are all so wonderful and fun. So we leave March 1st. Wish us luck. We will need it!!
